BZ Podcast Review 11: The Third Door... An Alternative Approach to Things Successful People Try All The Time

Life is like going to the club, a lot people line-up in front and wait for their turns (majority of people); millionaires and celebrities get their VIP pass the skip the line (people who are in top class of the society and they do exist); People taking the third door - either from the kitchen, backdoor, window. (People who are willing to take chances and just wing it). Most of things in life, there are unlimited ways of achieving the final goal. You just need to keep looking and be creative and willing to take risks.

Key Takeaways

1. One attribute that entrepreneur share is that they treat life and business exactly the same way

2. Do bold things others won’t. Don’t be afraid of rejection. Worse case, you go back to be the same as every one else.

3. Don’t copy other interviewer’s style, study it and understand why they have that style. They have that style because that is when they are most comfortable. When you are most comfortable, you make your interviewee feel most comfortable in their seats.

4. Tim Ferris Cold Email Template

Dear…

I understand that you have a busy schedule. Thus I only need your attention for 60 seconds.

(State your credibility in the areas you want to talk about and related to this person)

(Ask a specific questions that he or she could answer in one sentence)

Once again, I understand that you are busy. However one sentence of your reply could totally make my day.

Yours,
Tim

5. The Silver Medalist theory: hire the one who only get silver. He or she has similar level of skills as the gold medalist just a little lack in certain factor. Those people may have more drive and of course much cheaper to hire.

6. If you give someone all the knowledge and skills in the world, he or she could still be stuck. However if you change someone’s mind about what is possible, they will never be the same.

Word of Wisdom

Being part of the corporate bureaucracy is the exact opposite of my definition of success
